Description

u'OMNIA DISCERE [AR5]
"To learn all things"

The name is the ambition. The ticker is the subject — ars: skill, craft, art.

THE FOUNDING

The School of Applied Knowledge tests every Caldari child at eleven and files them into a function. Mine came back without a peak — every discipline the same middling grey. The State keeps no column for someone equally suited to all of it, so it put me in records and forgot about me.

I founded this corporation because the State would not build me one.

Omnia Discere is not a company. It is a column. It exists so that "all of it" has somewhere to be written down.

---

THE HOLDING

A skillbook is not knowledge until it is read. A corporation is not a company until it has something worth keeping.
This one keeps books. Five hundred and three of them sit in a hangar, and 183 cannot yet be opened — the manual for an Amarr Carrier, and Capital Industrial Ships, held by a capsuleer who has never undocked anything heavier than a battlecruiser.

They are not aspirations. They are inventory. There are 511 skills a capsuleer may obtain, and this corporation intends to hold every one at the first level and no further.

---

THE ARITHMETIC

Level I of everything is 626,750 SP. A fortnight, and no challenge at all.

But no book opens until its prerequisites are met, and theirs have their own. Follow that chain and 110 skills must reach level V purely to unlock something else.

The true cost is 96,211,330 SP. A multiplier of 154 — under four years of continuous training, assuming perfect remaps and that CCP never adds another skill. They will.

---

THE LIBRARY THAT WAS NOT THERE

Sixteen skills of the Sequencing group were written off as impossible. No market carried them, no loyalty store offered them, none had ever recorded a price. Four separate sweeps returned nothing, and every one was correct.

They are sold from the skill catalogue, and always were. A search of every market ever built cannot find a thing that was never listed on one.

The count went from 495 to 511 the moment somebody clicked the red book instead of shopping for it. All sixteen have since been bought, for 1.47 billion, and they remain the most expensive lesson this corporation has learned.

---

THE ONE THAT CANNOT BE BOUGHT

Astronautic Engineering was withdrawn from sale years ago and never removed from the game. No station seeds it; no new copy will ever exist. The only ones left sit in hangars, changing hands by private contract at fifteen to twenty-five billion, when they change hands at all.

Its own description concedes it has no practical application. It costs 1,250 skill points to train, and does nothing. It is also published, and this corporation counts published skills — so it stands as the final acquisition, and possibly the last for a very long time.

---

THE FLEET

Ars longa, vita brevis — a Gnosis. The craft is long, life is short.
Canes Venatici — an Algos. The hunting dogs.
Ursa Major — a Vexor. The bear they run with, above them in the sky.
Ceres — a Pioneer. The first asteroid ever found, and the goddess of what the ground gives up.

Three constellations and an asteroid. A fleet with a map.

---

CHARTER

Everything is measured rather than remembered. Closure computed across the full graph, training rates read from the queue\'s own timings, prices compared before anything is bought. Mistakes corrected in public — the corrections have been worth more than the successes.

Recruitment: closed. This is a library with one reader.
Progress: ongoing.
Completion: eventually.

Founded in the eighth month of YC 128 by a capsuleer who should know better.

ARS LONGA, VITA BREVIS'

Sovereignty systems [0]

The corporation doesn't hold any systems.
